About The Position

The Social Media Coordinator supports the Marketing and Communications team by creating and executing engaging social media content that strengthens the Manitoba Blue Cross brand. This role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure messaging aligns with organizational priorities. The ideal candidate is creative, trend-aware and skilled at translating ideas into compelling digital content.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent professional experience in social media content creation
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a social media coordination or content creation role
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube)
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating photo and video content creation skills
  • Proficiency with editing tools such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.) and social media tools like Edits, CapCut, etc.
  • Strong understanding of platform best practices and algorithm behaviour
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms
  • Proactive and well-organized, with the ability to balance multiple projects and be agile, when needed

Nice To Haves

  • Photography and videography skills are considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish engaging content across all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube)
  • Film and edit original photo and video content, including short-form videos (Reels) and static imagery, working closely with our in-house videographer as needed
  • Monitor trends, audio, formats, cultural moments – know when and how to act on them
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across platforms
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns, products, announcements
  • Engage with our online communities through comments, DMs and any other relevant interactions
  • Contribute to social media performance tracking and reporting
  • Source and manage user generated content
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships and cross promotions
  • Attend community events for “live” social media opportunities
