Social Media Content/Script Writer
About The Position
Our National Conversation (ONC) is a nonpartisan political conversation site focused on balanced and civil discussions. We are seeking creative student interns to develop material, jokes, and scripts for our social media channels. Our organization is primarily powered by Gen Z students who produce various content, and this role is part of the Media & Marketing team, which is described as fun. Other potential roles include AI Animation, podcasting, and team lead duties. Communication primarily occurs via Slack, Google Drive, and Zoom. Team meetings are mandatory on Tuesdays at 3:30pm PST, though exceptions can be made. The role operates on a semester basis, and a commitment of two to three semesters is a significant advantage.
Requirements
- Current students or recent graduates majoring in business, journalism, creative writing, marketing, or a similar field.
- Basic knowledge of posting on social media channels.
- Ability to write catchy/sarcastic/witty content and/or dialogue.
- Interest in politics or political-adjacent topics.
- U.S. based and authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to commit to at least two or three semesters.
- Provide a link to past work when applying.
Nice To Haves
- Some colleges provide credit to students for working with ONC for a semester.
Responsibilities
