About The Position

UW Credit Union is a $6 billion member-owned financial cooperative serving 390,000+ members across Wisconsin. Our mission is to improve the financial well-being of our members — and our Social Media Content Producer ensures that mission is visible through our social media channels. As our Social Media Content Producer, your primary focus is content creation. Reels, TikToks, Stories, carousels, static graphics and beyond – you are well versed in a variety of social media formats and know how to optimize content for each channel. When you’re not creating content, you’re tackling the day-to-day requirements of social media, like tending to our online community and responding to member feedback.

Requirements

  • 7 months – 1 year experience creating social media content across a variety of formats, including short-form video, carousels, Stories, etc. required.
  • 7 months – 1 year experience creating social media content in Canva and/or Adobe software required.
  • 7 months – 1 year experience producing social media content on mobile tools (Ex. Natively in TikTok, CapCut, etc.) required.
  • Confident verbal communication skills with a natural, engaging on-camera presence
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without missing a beat
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
  • Naturally curious, always looking to learn something new about the brand, the platforms, or the audience
  • Works well independently, able to take a task and run with it while still knowing when to ask for input
  • Ability to communicate positively and adapt to changing priorities

Nice To Haves

  • 0-6 months experience using social media scheduling platforms like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc. preferred.
  • 0-6 months prior experience at a credit union or other financial institution preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch content concepts for review, then produce approved social-first content across UWCU channels, including short-form video, carousels and Stories, in line with the existing social media strategy.
  • Produce paid social content.
  • Appear on camera as needed for content purposes.
  • Collaborate with influencers and brand representatives to develop content.
  • As needed, attend community events for social content purposes. (Branch openings, tabling initiatives, press events, etc.) May require occasional time outside of typical work hours.
  • Collaborate with Compliance for legal review.
  • Act as the primary responder for comments and direct messages, maintaining a friendly and helpful tone.
  • Foster a positive community environment by engaging with followers and local partners.
  • Seek opportunities for the brand to engage with other accounts in surprise-and-delight moments.
  • Support crisis communications as needed, which may require occasional time outside of work hours.
  • Regularly schedule content with Spout Social.
  • Write captions and implement channel-specific strategy to optimize content.
  • Stay current on social media trends, audio formats, creator styles, platform updates, and best practices.
  • Support our NIL (name, image, likeness) program by meeting with student athletes to introduce them to the UWCU NIL program.
  • Support our employee advocacy program by keeping content library up to date.
