About The Position

This is an unpaid volunteer position for individuals seeking flexible hours and an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting ARO's mission to help victims of abuse. The role is remote and offers flexibility, allowing volunteers to work within a virtual environment and interact with others passionate about making a difference. Volunteers can develop skill sets, engage in departmental cross-training, explore leadership roles, and mentor others. ARO focuses on championing 28 areas of abuse and offers various support services. This position is best suited for individuals seeking a longer-term volunteer opportunity (12+ months preferred).

Requirements

• Must be available to volunteer 8-10 hours a week.
• Be a self-starter with excellent time management skills.
• Possess a collaborative way of working.
• Behave professionally in manner and appearance.
• Be consistently organized and flexible.
• A team player with demonstrated experience working well with others.
• Ability to anticipate and critically think through problems.
• Only hiring female identifying volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Design visually engaging social media graphics and images aligned with brand identity.
• Write compelling, on-brand copy to accompany posts and drive audience engagement.
• Assist with Social Media posts and help with increasing our social media following.
• Utilize Asana to review tasks and Slack to respond to messages.
• Explore trends relating to Social Media pages and introduce them as needed.
• Attend the monthly company meeting.
• Perform other appropriate tasks or duties as requested.
• Actively engage with the organization's social media platforms by liking, sharing, or commenting on posts to help spread awareness of our mission and initiatives.
