About The Position

Oil Change International is looking for a Social Media Content Creator (Japanese) on a contractual basis for its Asia team campaigning for a transition away from fossil fuels in Asia, with a focus on targeting the Japanese government. This role involves producing Japanese (and English) social media content for the Fossil Free Japan campaign to engage allies and promote anti-fossil fuel initiatives. Candidates should have strong written communication skills, an intuition for what makes digital content engaging, and the ability to deliver projects in a timely manner. You must be based within the UTC+07:00 to UTC+11:00 time range (Japan Standard Time ± 2 hours), have excellent or highly proficient written and verbal Japanese and good English language skills to be considered for this role. Responsibilities

  • Work with the Asia team and Fossil Free Japan (FFJ) partners to develop ideas for engaging Japanese and English content for FFJ’s social media channels
  • Use campaign messaging guides (English) to produce Japanese language social media posts for FFJ social media accounts (Linkedin, X, Instagram, Facebook), including high quality written content and captions for infographics, photos and occasionally short-form videos
  • Amplify and adapt content from partner organisations for FFJ social media accounts
  • Meet with Asia Team Campaigners on a regular basis to discuss upcoming content
  • Help to maintain the FFJ content calendar
  • Assist with FFJ website maintenance, including uploading Japanese and English content drafted by the Asia team
  • Review Japanese digital content translations for accuracy, tone, and cultural resonance (blog articles, digital ads, social media posts)
  • Participate constructively in relevant team and coalition meetings
  • Respond to administrative requests in a timely and courteous manner, including submitting invoices by established deadlines.
