About The Position

Rare Candy is a leading marketplace for trading card games like Pokémon, MTG, and Lorcana, used by millions of collectors. The company experienced significant growth last year and is looking for a Social Media & Community Associate to help promote compelling content created by their in-house creators, such as Leonhart and Powdr TCG. This role involves managing content calendars, writing captions, and engaging with the community through comments, direct messages, and Discord. It is an early-career position, suitable for someone with a strong understanding of internet culture and the TCG community, and is open to current students. The role requires reliability and the ability to ensure posts go out on time and community interactions are handled promptly.

Requirements

  • Extremely online presence with a useful application of internet knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of the TCG space, including products, community dynamics, influential accounts, and language.
  • Strong writing skills for captions, hooks, and replies.
  • Good judgment and taste in content selection and strategy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to messages promptly.
  • Formal experience is optional; current students are welcome.
  • Ability to commit to approximately 20 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running a social media account, whether for a brand, a hobby, or personally.

Responsibilities

  • Post consistently across TikTok and Instagram, with X and YouTube Shorts as the company scales.
  • Write captions, hooks, and replies that align with the brand's voice.
  • Manage community interactions on comments, DMs, Discord, and Reddit.
  • Monitor trends in the TCG internet space and identify opportunities for timely engagement.
  • Coordinate with creators regarding content timing and release.
  • Pitch new post ideas.
  • Send a weekly recap detailing content performance and reasons for success.
