About The Position

Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 16-29 through mental health services, social programs, and housing. We operate a Youth Centre, offering barrier-free counselling, hot meals, and community programming, and a Transitional Home, providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support. This is a volunteer position where you can make an impact by creating safe, inclusive spaces for marginalized youth.

Requirements

• Graphic design skills and experience
• Social media marketing knowledge and experience
• Available for up to 5 hours per week (dates and times are flexible)
• Commitment to social justice, anti-racism, anti-oppression, housing first approach, harm reduction approach, and trauma-informed care
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check clearance

Responsibilities

• Designing and creating graphics that align with Friends of Ruby’s branding
• Ensuring compliance with all AODA standards for graphic design
• Creating posts and captions for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn using the Friends of Ruby branding
• Ensuring compliance with all AODA standards for social media content
• Crafting and/or proofing email communications and newsletter content
• Assisting with donation data integrity and clean up
