About The Position

Social High Rise is a small online marketing agency specializing in the restaurant and hospitality industry, established in 2012. We manage online listings and menus, social media platforms, websites, and email marketing for small and medium-sized locally-owned restaurants. Our goal is to take the online customer service and social media management off the plates of restaurant owners and managers. We focus on developing authentic organic content and paid ad campaigns, posting to social media platforms, responding to customer reviews, and managing local SEO. We operate as a close-knit team, emphasizing ownership, empathy, optimism, humility, and resourcefulness, with a people-first approach and a flat organizational structure.

This is a full-time entry-level position with the option to work remotely or at our office headquarters in Downtown Chico, CA. Remote workers must have a strong, reliable internet connection and be comfortable using online communication tools daily.

Requirements

• No marketing experience necessary; paid training and ongoing coaching/mentorship is provided.
• Passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
• Genuine appreciation for small, locally-owned restaurants.
• Experience working in the restaurant and hospitality industry is preferred.
• Strong and unwavering ability to be completely self-managed and self-motivated.
• Some experience using Facebook, Instagram Google Business, Yelp, Canva, DropBox, Google Drive and Email Marketing platforms.
• Very polished writing skills with an understanding of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Ability to carefully follow detailed instructions AND the ability to take initiative to figure things out when instructions are not available.
• Shameless communication skills with no fear of asking questions or sharing ideas.
• Experience speaking over the phone with confidence and polish.
• Creativity.
• If remote, must have a strong, reliable, and consistent internet connection.
• If remote, must be comfortable using Zoom, Slack, and other online communication tools, daily.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, English, Psychology, or related subject.

Responsibilities

• Create organic content and paid ad campaigns on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google, and email.
• Perform mild photo editing.
• Create graphics using Canva.
• Respond to reviews on Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor on behalf of assigned clients.
• Communicate regularly, promptly, and professionally via email, text, Zoom, Slack, and phone with assigned clients and Social High Rise team members.
• Take initiative to find solutions for platform glitches and complex problems.
