We’re looking for a culturally tapped-in, NYC-based Social Media Intern to help capture and amplify what’s happening across the city. This role is built for someone who lives outside, understands the energy of New York, and knows how to turn real-world moments into content people actually care about. In addition to real-time cultural documentation for Okayplayer NYC through event attendance and neighborhood exploration, your responsibilities will include attending NYC-based events, parties, restaurants, pop-ups, and cultural happenings on behalf of Okayplayer NYC, capturing high-quality photo and video content (Reels, TikToks, Stories, short-form video) in real time, identifying trending moments, emerging spots, and culturally relevant experiences across NYC, creating and editing social-first content optimized for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms, writing captions that reflect Okayplayer’s voice and resonate with a NYC audience, publishing content or handing off assets quickly for timely posting, conducting on-the-ground interviews (man-on-the-street, quick hits, event coverage), collaborating with the social and editorial teams on content ideas and coverage plans, tracking content performance and contributing ideas to improve reach and engagement, and representing the Okayplayer brand professionally at events and in public spaces.
