About The Position

This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract for a Social Content Videographer. It is a fully remote position based in the US, with Los Angeles strongly preferred for team overlap. The videographer will be set up to produce content independently from home, with Canva providing all necessary equipment. This is not a traditional videographer role; it requires a creative collaborator who is skilled with a camera (or phone) and embedded within Canva's organic social team. The focus is on shooting and editing social-first content, primarily on iPhone, for platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The role involves conceptualizing original ideas, monitoring US trends and pop culture for same-day content creation, and collaborating with the Social Lead on entertainment-led series and brand acts. The position requires delivering a mix of lo-fi reactive content and more polished edits, and potentially jumping into light graphic or meme formats.

Requirements

• Social-first creator, comfortable shooting on an iPhone as well as a camera
• Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram, including hooks, trends, and what makes people stop scrolling
• Ability to concept and execute ideas independently, from spark to post
• Experience with reactive, same-day production
• Fluent in Adobe Premiere Pro; CapCut or DaVinci Resolve also acceptable
• Some experience in a corporate or agency environment, handling structure and process well

Responsibilities

• Shooting and editing social-first content, primarily on iPhone - fast, reactive, and built for TikTok and Instagram
• Concepting original ideas and bringing them to the table
• Monitoring US trends, pop culture, and breaking moments in real time, and turning them into content same-day when needed
• Collaborating closely with the Social Lead to develop entertainment-led series and culturally resonant brand acts that build audience engagement at scale
• Delivering a mix of lo-fi reactive content and more polished, cinematic edits
• Jumping into light graphic or meme formats if that's in your wheelhouse
