About The Position

The Social Behavior Change and Marketing Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing social behavior change and marketing strategies focused on value creation. This role involves ensuring Tiko's message is delivered in a relevant, meaningful, and effective way to support the company's health programs for adolescents and young people. The manager will develop Tiko's platform marketing and communications strategy, translate strategies into actionable plans within the country context, and drive demand for Tiko platform membership and services. A data-driven approach using research and insights is crucial for improving demand generation and behavior change. The role also involves identifying strategic partnerships, providing programmatic oversight to local partners, and collaborating with government ministries and other partners.

Requirements

  • Relevant university qualification in social behavior change, health communication, Marketing, community development, Business Management, or similar
  • Proven experience in communication, marketing, community development with a track record of managing and growing marketing strategies, brands, influencing social and behavioral change, with including at least 3 years of experience playing any of the above roles.
  • Demonstrated ability in setting strategic marketing directions and executing plans independently
  • Strong experience in leading agency relationships, with the capability to articulate campaign results and insights
  • You are currently based in South Africa (mandatory).

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing state-of-the-art Social and behavior change interventions in support of Tiko’s health programs, which focus on adolescents and young people.
  • Developing Tiko platform marketing and communications strategy, bringing insights about our users, their needs, motivations, and both their online and offline behavior.
  • Translating Tiko social behavior changes and marketing strategies into actionable plans and activities within the country context to drive demand for Tiko platform membership and services uptake - this will include developing and executing content, brand materials, social media engagement, and continuous effective messages.
  • Employing a data-driven approach to field operations by driving and using research and insights from the markets to continuously improve demand generation and behavior change among Tiko’s target audiences and communities we work in.
  • Identifying strategic SBC and marketing partnerships and branding opportunities that will put Tiko at the forefront of our target audience’s minds and influence desire for service uptake and behavior change.
  • Providing programmatic oversight to local partner organizations to implement SBC and marketing activities in support of our Tiko offerings.
  • Engaged and collaborated with line government ministries and other partners on matters of SBC and marketing, as guided by country leadership.
