Soccer Enrichment Instructor
About The Position
Brains & Motion Education (BAM!) provides year-round enrichment programs at local schools and communities, offering students opportunities to explore STEM, arts, and sports. Its on-campus programs provide a safe, engaging environment, and the organization’s sports programs aim to help children develop physical and social skills. As a Soccer Enrichment Instructor, also described in the posting as an After-School Sports Coach, you will guide elementary and middle school students through soccer fundamentals. You will help students build confidence and athletic skills while fostering teamwork, movement, discipline, and personal growth in a supportive, high-energy environment. The role pays $29.00 per hour and is part-time. The Fall Session begins September 21, 2026, with program availability required Monday through Thursday between 1:45 PM and 4:00 PM PST.
Requirements
- Have 1–2 years of personal or instructional soccer experience and a strong passion for teaching youth.
- Have at least two years of college coursework (48 semester units), an associate’s degree or higher, or a passing score on a local assessment meeting ESSA requirements.
- Have strong classroom and behavior-management skills suitable for K–8 students.
- Have reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- Be able to pass a standard background check.
- Be able to demonstrate athletic movements and occasionally lift or carry equipment weighing 20–50 lbs.
- Be consistently available during required program hours, Monday through Thursday between 1:45 PM and 4:00 PM PST.
Nice To Haves
- Prior coaching, teaching, or camp counselor experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, high-energy soccer sessions that encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and active participation.
- Teach soccer fundamentals, including footwork, dribbling, passing, shooting, and play execution, adapting instruction for beginners through intermediate skill levels.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment for K–8 students during after-school hours.
- Implement structured BAM! Sports curricula and ensure sessions are age-appropriate, inclusive, and fun.
