Summer Camp Sports Program - Soccer
About The Position
The Utica City School District is seeking qualified candidates for its Youth Sports Summer Program, which includes Soccer. This program is designed to keep youth active and safe during the summer, supporting the district's mission to educate the whole child. It addresses challenges faced by urban communities, such as limited access to safe recreational outlets and a lack of structured programs. The program promotes health and fitness through various sports, builds critical life skills and character, encourages academic and career exploration, increases equity and opportunity, and strengthens community and family ties.
Requirements
- NYS Coaching Certification
- Interscholastic coaching experience in soccer
- CPR/FA for coaches or responding to emergencies/AED certification
- Concussion Management Certification
- Fingerprint Clearance
Responsibilities
- Coach soccer participants in the Youth Sports Summer Program.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during program activities.
- Foster teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and leadership skills through sports.
- Integrate academic components related to sports, such as sports science or data analysis.
- Promote equity and opportunity by providing access to sports like soccer.
- Engage with families and the community through program events.
Benefits
- Pay rate of $40/hour
- Not to exceed 20 hours per week
