About The Position

We are looking for energetic, soccer-loving individuals to join our team for a high-octane week of summer camp at the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF). If you have a passion for the game and love working with kids, this is your chance to make an impact. The program runs from June 22, 2026, to June 26, 2026, with full-day programs lasting 7 hours per day. Salary for these positions is commensurate with experience and will range from $265 - $800/week. We are hiring for the following roles: High School or College Coach (full day), Current College Athlete (full day), Graduating High School Senior Athlete (full day), and High School Athlete (half day).

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Students currently enrolled in high school are eligible to apply for the half-day program (must have appropriate work permit as applicable).
  • A background in playing soccer at the high school level or above or experience working with youth in an athletic camp setting or has served as a coach.
  • Extensive knowledge of soccer activities specifically designed for children ages 5–15.
  • The ability to work seamlessly as a team member while also taking independent initiative.
  • Clear communication with co-workers and supervisors regarding program needs, challenges, and successes.
  • Acting as a mature representative of UMF when interacting with the general public.
  • The ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, participants, and the public.
  • A constant willingness to participate in all areas of the program with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and supervise soccer activities and events for campers.
  • Assist with the setup and implementation of various sport activities throughout the week.
  • Take responsibility for organized camper check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Identify and respond to potential hazards, report all emergencies or injuries to the director, and follow campus Emergency Action Plans (EAP).
  • Keep the program environment safe, clean, and positive for every participant.
