About The Position

Join Apple’s System-Level Test Product Development Engineering (SLT-PDE) team to design and deploy test solutions for the quality and performance of next-generation SoCs and semiconductor devices. The work spans hardware, software, AI/ML automation, and high-volume manufacturing, and contributes to the reliability and user experience of Apple products.

In this role, you will create, deploy, and continuously improve system-level test methodologies for advanced silicon devices. You will use software development and debugging skills to bring up new silicon during early development and build robust, scalable test solutions for mass production. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with hardware, firmware, software, product, test, quality, and factory operations teams, as well as AI-assisted workflows for debug and characterization.

You will develop System Level Test programs for Apple SoCs from new product introduction (NPI) through high-volume manufacturing (HVM), and lead deployment of SLT at outsourced semiconductor assembly and test providers (OSATs).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Strong understanding of SoC fundamentals, including CPU/GPU pipelines, interconnects, memory hierarchy, cache coherency, boot flow, and power/clock domains.
• Strong Python skills and proficiency in at least one high-level language such as C++ or C#.
• Ability to write production-quality code and build automation used by other engineers.
• Ability to investigate ambiguous symptoms and find root causes across hardware and software boundaries.
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience with silicon bring-up, board-level debugging, firmware interaction, or system-level validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop System Level Test (SLT) test programs for Apple SoCs from NPI through HVM.
• Lead overall deployment of SLT at OSATs, working closely with GSM and Test Engineering teams.
• Work with Apple internal Test teams, Product Engineering, QA, Product Management, and software engineering teams.
• Create, deploy, and continuously improve system-level test methodologies for advanced silicon devices.
• Bring up new silicon during early development and ensure robust, scalable test solutions for mass production.
