About The Position

The SOC Automation Flow Engineer develops, deploys, and supports robust, configurable, scalable, AI-powered tools and frameworks for system-on-chip hardware development and verification across multiple projects. The role works with hardware design and verification engineers across multiple sites and collaborates with Apple-internal automation teams to improve workflows and establish standard methodologies. The engineer also supports projects from start to finish, helps forecast future project needs, works with external tool vendors on integration and issue tracking, and identifies opportunities to develop and deploy new software and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree and at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation tools in a hardware or software development environment.
• At least 5 years of scripting experience in a Unix environment using Perl, Python, or Ruby.
• Demonstrated use of generative AI tools to develop, debug, and deploy automation tools.
• Solid understanding of modern software development processes and standard methodologies.
• Ability to design quantitative experiments, capture data, and analyze and present results.
• Experience with batch job or cloud execution environments.
• Experience with SQL and database configuration and operation.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of hardware design verification tool configuration and operation.
• Knowledge of hardware design verification methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and support robust, configurable, and scalable AI-powered tools and frameworks for SOC hardware development and verification across multiple projects.
• Work with hardware design and verification engineers across multiple sites to deliver automation solutions.
• Partner with Apple-internal automation teams to improve flows in related organizations, define new requirements, and demonstrate standard methodologies.
• Identify, capture, and analyze metrics to improve automation reliability and efficiency.
• Work with project leads and engineers to support projects from start to finish and forecast future needs.
• Coordinate with external tool vendors to ensure their tools are accurately integrated and fully leveraged, and assist with identifying and tracking issues.
• Identify opportunities to develop and deploy new software and technologies.
