Intervention, Inc., a Colorado non-profit, provides services within the criminal justice system across the state of Colorado including sobriety monitoring (UAs/BAs), electronic monitoring, probation supervision and community corrections. This is an entry level Criminal Justice position with no previous experience required. The role involves providing drug and alcohol sobriety monitoring of court-ordered offenders and other clients. The technician will support, promote, and adhere to the mission, values, and Code of Conduct of Intervention Inc., treating all persons with dignity and respect while maintaining confidentiality. Responsibilities include signing clients in, escorting them to collection areas, visually monitoring urinalysis testing of same-sex clients, monitoring testing via urine screens, breathalyzer, and oral swabs, and following all policies and protocols for sample collection. Accurate and timely completion of documentation, Chain of Custody, and incident reports is essential. The technician will also accept testing fees, issue receipts, secure payments, process and report testing results, and maintain the cleanliness and professionalism of the office. Communication and interaction with referral sources, staff, and clients must be professional. The role requires attending staff meetings, taking appropriate action to prevent or diffuse disruptive situations, remaining alert and reacting calmly in emergencies, and providing coverage outside of regular schedules as needed. Driving a personal car to various sites is required, as is attending all required trainings and applying learned skills. Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
