About The Position

Provide a quality learning experience for students of all abilities to learn to ski and safely enjoy the mountain environment. Teach lessons in a positive, safe, fun, and professional manner. Demonstrate contemporary and appropriate skiing skills to children and adults. Convey knowledge of PSIA methodology and technology to students, understanding the general concepts of the Learning Connection to a depth applicable to teaching/ certification level. Provide area and community information to guests. Accurately maintain timely and legible documentation for teaching hours, attendance cards, progress cards, incident and risk management information and other documentation as directed by management. Attend required meetings and training seminars. Work collaboratively with fellow employees and independently with groups of students. Maintain a clean and orderly personal space in the locker room.

Requirements

  • Current certification from PSIA or International Equivalent Required.
  • The ability to ski from assigned stations to the base area while demonstrating maneuvers to students throughout the duration of a lesson for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to communicate clear instructions and safety information to students.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude throughout the season.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and dependable; adhere to a consistent schedule, including holidays.
  • Set up and maintain an environment that prioritizes safety, fun, and learning.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, children, supervisors, and coworkers.
  • Display a genuine desire to share knowledge of the sport and inspire others to enjoy it.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of all protected information.
  • Follow operational procedures with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understand and comply with Bridger Bowl Policies and Procedures.
  • Contribute to Bridger Bowl's sustainability goals through daily practices.
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Be capable of lifting and carrying 40 lbs.
  • Learning new tasks, remembering processes, maintaining focus, communicating effectively with coworkers and visitors, and the ability to complete tasks independently and efficiently under pressure.
  • Instructors need to be adaptable with their teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of individual students, demonstrating patience and understanding when working with varying skill levels.
  • Successful candidates must have the ability to understand and communicate in English with adequate proficiency to follow directions from supervisor, read and understand safety guidelines and directions to prevent accidents or injuries from occurring, and effectively communicate with visitors and staff.

  • The teaching of unauthorized Snowsports lessons for remuneration outside the confines and arrangements of the Bridger Bowl Snowsports School and within the boundaries of Bridger Bowl Ski Area is illegal and strictly prohibited and may result in termination, civil fines, and/or prosecution.
