About The Position

Snowshoe is hiring a Snowmaking Technician for the winter season. This role involves operating snowmaking machinery, performing maintenance on equipment, and ensuring high-quality skiing terrain. The position requires physical aptitude for strenuous activity and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Employees will also provide guest support and ensure safety compliance. This is a seasonal position with the possibility of working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Affordable on-mountain employee housing is available.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform strenuous activity, including frequent lifting of weights up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to walk or hike on uneven, challenging terrain while carrying heavy tools or equipment.
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to snowmaking operations, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in snowmaking operations.
  • Previous experience as a Snowmaker or in a similar role.
  • Completion of ATV safety course.
  • Completion of snowmobile safety course (if licensed).
  • Completion of snow science course.

Responsibilities

  • Operate snowmaking machinery, and handle trail cutting, road preparation, and site work.
  • Perform upkeep on snowmaking equipment and assist with water and air line repairs.
  • Provide labor support, exceed guest expectations, and deliver relevant information about trails, dining, weather, and events.
  • Maintain high-quality skiing terrain and relocate snowmaking guns as needed.
  • Follow OSHA and company procedures, attend safety training, and use appropriate PPE.
  • Mow, weed eat, clear brush, and implement irrigation and erosion control measures.
  • Coordinate with compressor house operators and report unsafe trail conditions to the Supervisor.
  • Have a valid Driver’s license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program.
