About The Position

Mountain Creek is hiring a Snowmaker at its Vernon, New Jersey location. The Snowmaker is primarily responsible for starting and stopping on-hill snowmaking equipment and monitoring snow quality and coverage throughout shifts. The role also performs daily pre- and post-operational setup and follows protocols for snowmaking infrastructure. Snowmakers work with resort teams to provide guests with a quality product while maintaining safe operations.

Requirements

Able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
Able to perform manual labor, including shoveling snow, chipping ice, carrying hoses, moving guns, and hiking trails.
Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Turn snowmaking guns and other on-hill equipment on and off, and monitor snow quality and coverage.
Set up and break down trails for snowmaking needs.
Identify hose and snow gun problems.
Flush and blow out guns and hoses.
Operate primary and satellite valves in pump houses to transfer air and water.
Service, repair, and maintain snowmaking guns, equipment, and infrastructure.
Operate and start pumps and compressors.
Safely operate snowmobiles, ATVs, and trucks on designated trails and follow company vehicle policies.
Understand snowmaking infrastructure, flow direction, and water recapture.
Use radios for communication and follow company protocol and radio etiquette.
Follow documentation and safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment.
Use hand tools and small power equipment.
Work cooperatively with peers, departments, interdepartmental contacts, and vendors.
Help create a fun, team-oriented atmosphere while adhering to guest and employee safety guidelines.
Perform other resort or department duties as assigned.
