About The Position

The Snow Removal Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all large equipment and daily maintenance. The Snow Removal Heavy Equipment Operator is based out of the Facility Maintenance Shop (Woodshop) and the Lower Bone Yard Sand Sheds. This is a Full Time Seasonal position for the Winter Season, typically from November 1st to April 5th.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of equipment operating and daily maintenance experience in backhoes, excavators, sand tucks, skid steers, snowplows and front-end loaders.
  • Must thoroughly understand mechanical and electrical functions of machinery, equipment and hydraulics and perform basic maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Must adhere to and promote the safety policies and procedures relating to the operation of heavy equipment and daily maintenance duties.
  • Subject to WSI’s Alcohol and Controlled Substance Abuse Policy based on the nature of the position and related duties.

Responsibilities

  • Operates loaders, skid steers, snowplows, and snow blowers.
  • Performs snow plowing and snow removal from WMR upper and lower Village areas including pedestrian walkways and all resort parking lots and some resort area roadways.
  • Performs daily maintenance including fluid level checks and greasing as necessary.
  • Notifies direct manager of routine maintenance and repair needs for all vehicles and equipment and follows guidelines for vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs in coordination with the Vehicle Maintenance Department.
  • Wears personal protective equipment and safety equipment as required by safety policies and procedures.
  • Operates fire suppression equipment as required.
  • Maintains a clean & orderly work environment, i.e. cleans equipment daily.
  • Conducts periodic inspections of work and public areas to identify and correct unsafe conditions and work behaviors.
