About The Position

The Snow Blower Manager serves as the operational leader for tractor snow removal operations, overseeing personnel, equipment, scheduling, route execution, and customer service while working closely with company leadership to ensure every storm is a success.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid New York State Driver's License (CDL is a plus but not required)
  • Extensive experience operating tractors or heavy equipment in commercial snow removal
  • Experience with manual transmission/clutch-powered equipment preferred
  • Previous management experience leading multiple crews and supervisors
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent decision-making abilities in fast-paced winter conditions
  • Experience managing snow routes, dispatching crews, and coordinating equipment
  • Proficient with smartphones, GPS, and service documentation software
  • Ability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during snow events
  • Ability to look over shoulder, twist, and turn body/neck repeatedly for long hours.
  • Strong commitment to safety, accountability, and operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Lead all snow blower tractor operations during winter snow and ice events.
  • Supervise Snow Blower Supervisors and Snow Blower Tractor Operators.
  • Develop, assign, and adjust snow removal routes to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor weather forecasts and prepare crews, equipment, and materials before each storm.
  • Coordinate staffing to ensure complete coverage during every snow event.
  • Oversee equipment readiness, preventive maintenance, fueling, and repairs.
  • Dispatch crews and maintain communication throughout winter operations.
  • Monitor route progress using service tracking software and provide real-time operational support.
  • Ensure commercial properties are serviced according to contract specifications and company quality standards.
  • Handle customer concerns, service requests, and emergency situations professionally.
  • Investigate accidents, equipment failures, and service issues while implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist with hiring operators.
  • Continuously train, mentor, and develop supervisors and equipment operators.
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and operational expectations.
  • Work closely with company leadership to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with preseason planning, employee training, equipment preparation, and route development.
