The Fair Hearing Administration of the Department of Social Services oversees DSS’s fair hearing process, which is an administrative law procedure designed to resolve disputes concerning benefits, services, and actions in a variety of programs administered by DSS. DSS/HRA Fair Hearing Administration is responsible for providing representation of the Agency at NYS Administrative Hearings in the following program areas: Cash Assistance (CA), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), IREA, HASA and MISCA – Medical Assistance (MA). Under the direction of the Fair Hearing SNAP Compliance Supervisor, with wide latitude for independent action and decision, the SNAP FH Eligibility Compliance Specialist performs administrative duties related to the processing and resolution of client fair hearing compliances affecting receipt of Public Assistance including SNAP. Fair Hearing Administration is recruiting for three (3) Eligibility Specialist II’s to function as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Fair Hearing Eligibility Compliance Specialist.
