About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Eligibility Specialist to support workforce development programs within a Career Center environment. This role is responsible for determining participant eligibility for federally funded programs, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines, and guiding individuals through enrollment and career service options. The ideal candidate brings strong case management experience, exceptional documentation accuracy, and the ability to navigate multiple workforce programs while delivering a high level of customer service.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in case management, workforce services, or job placement
  • Strong knowledge of workforce programs such as WIOA, SNAP, TANF, RESEA, TAA, NCP, and SEAL
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service and client engagement skills
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • Familiarity with local community resources and workforce services
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation and active auto insurance
  • Ability to travel locally as needed

Responsibilities

  • Interview customers to assess training needs, education, experience, skills, and career interests
  • Determine eligibility for workforce programs in accordance with federal, state, and local policies
  • Ensure proper utilization of program funding through accurate eligibility determinations
  • Assist individuals in identifying required documentation for eligibility completion
  • Provide alternative resources for individuals who do not qualify for services
  • Collect, verify, and maintain all required eligibility documentation
  • Ensure participant files are complete, accurate, and compliant with program standards
  • Document eligibility determinations in counselor notes, including status updates (complete, pending, or denied)
  • Maintain professional, factual, and compliant case notes with integrity
  • Ensure adherence to all Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) guidelines and updates
  • Verify all funding streams are explored and properly documented, including co-enrollment when applicable
  • Confirm WorkInTexas and Wagner-Peyser requirements are completed prior to enrollment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support multi-program service delivery
  • Coordinate outreach efforts with Adult Education, school districts, community organizations, and employers
  • Maintain awareness of labor market trends and workforce program offerings
  • Participate in outreach initiatives and public-facing events as needed
  • Accurately enter and update participant data in workforce systems
  • Track program activities, eligibility outcomes, and participant progress
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with program requirements
