About The Position

Odyssey Systems is seeking a Space Sensing (SN) Weather Systems Sustainment Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the US Space Force mission. This role supports the Space System Command’s System Space Sensing System Delta 810 Space/Terrestrial Environmental Analysis & Resource Branch (SSC SYD 810/ETS). SYD 810 is responsible for developing, acquiring, fielding, and sustaining next-generation space-based and ground-based environmental monitoring capabilities that provide global, persistent, and timely battle-space awareness data. The SME will integrate SN operations with current SN programs, networks, and Command and Control (C2) data exploitation and dissemination systems. This includes sustainment of existing ground-based weather systems such as Ionospheric Ground Sensors (IGS), Solar Electro-Optical Network (SEON), Space Weather Analysis & Forecast System (SWAFS), Military Assistance to the Space Environment (mase), talon 6a, COSMIC II, and Electric Charged Particle sensor (ecp). Odyssey Systems provides A&AS support in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed in coordination with USSF SSC/SZB depot and development contractors, and with SN stakeholders. This is a full-time position located in Colorado Springs, CO, with potential for 3-4 days of telework per week at the government's discretion.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Active Secret clearance, able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, program management, or a science field
  • 4 years of directly relevant experience performing program management activities within an Air Force, Space Force, DoD, Intelligence, or Missile Defense Agency Acquisition organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and team building skills with demonstrated ability to build consensus in a government/contractor team environment
  • General understanding of DoD Space Operations and Space Sensing Systems

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret clearance, agreeable to polygraph
  • BA or BS
  • 10 or more years of experience with 4 or more years of experience performing program management activities within an Air Force, Space Force, DoD, Intelligence, or Missile Defense Agency acquisition organization

Responsibilities

  • Review and provide technical evaluation of vendor proposals for sustainment, contractor re-competes, upgrades and modifications.
  • Coordinate, review and provide input to and comments during the development of system design documentation including technical requirements documents (TRDs), capability description documents (CDDs), capability production documents (CPDs), interface control documents (ICDs), and system specifications.
  • Coordinate, review and provide input into documentation for the space weather programs such as Security Classification Guide, agreements, requirements, etc.
  • Support the Government at technical interchange meetings (TIMs), design reviews, test readiness reviews, internal staff meetings, Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, working groups, and informal meetings, interfacing with prime contractor program management and technical personnel.
  • Organize and support working group meetings across multiple organizations; research, provide recommended solutions and/or resolve questions, issues, and risks identified in IPT meetings; develop and provide recommended actions to the Government Program Management team and to Portfolio and Division senior management; coordinate with prime contractors, depot contractors, and Government functional teams.
  • Provide program oversight support to the Government team; prepare briefings, reports, and informational analyses in support of the Division’s programs; identify and prepare consolidated lessons learned reports from applicable related programs.
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government direction.
  • Other duties as requested by the Government and within the constraints of the S3 contract.
