Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and Four (4) years of experience in the following: High speed digital and Mixed signal board design; Designing interfaces including I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, MIPI, PCIe, Flash and DDR Memories; Schematic capture and PCB design; CAD tools such as OrCAD or Mentor Graphics; Board bring-up testing and troubleshooting using high speed Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, and lab instruments; FPGA/SoC board hardware design and debugging hardware software interface using JTAG debuggers and IDE tools; Design Verification Testing; and EMI/EMC testing, Safety testing, Regulatory Standards Compliance, and Product Certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and six (6) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory.
  • Design a complete and complex framework, system or product.
  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
  • Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses.
  • Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
  • Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
  • Exercise independent judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
