About The Position

The SMT Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining SMT machines used in the assembly of electronic circuit boards. This role ensures production runs efficiently, meets quality standards, and follows safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
  • Experience with SMT machines.
  • Familiarity/understanding of SMD components and PCB assembly
  • Ability to read work instructions and technical documents
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Basic computer skills for machine interface and reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Juki is a plus
  • Knowledge of IPC standards (such as IPC-A-610)
  • Familiarity with inspection tools (microscopes, AOI systems)
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate SMT equipment such as pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, and reflow ovens
  • Load components, feeders, and reels into machines according to production schedules
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
  • Inspect PCBs for defects and ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on equipment
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive electronic components (ESD precautions)
  • Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and quality teams
