Smokehouse Operator, 2nd shift (3PM – 11PM), Tyrone, PA
About The Position
The Smokehouse Operator plays a key role in producing high-quality bacon and smoked meat products by monitoring cooking and chilling processes within the smokehouse department. This hands-on role includes loading and unloading smokehouses and brine chillers, ensuring products are cooked and chilled to company specifications, accurately documenting production records, and assisting with hourly sanitation and food safety inspections. Responsibilities
- Monitor smokehouse operations to ensure products are cooked according to company specifications
- Oversee the chilling process to ensure products are cooled in compliance with company requirements
- Load and unload smokehouses and brine chillers safely and efficiently
- Accurately complete and maintain weight sheets, charts, and production documentation
- Assist with hourly inspections of smokehouse rooms to identify and report SSOP (Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures) deficiencies
- Follow all food safety, quality, and sanitation standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
