About The Position

WisEngineering, LLC is seeking a motivated and technically adept Scientist or Engineer to join our Power Team. This role will provide critical support to Power Team projects as well as select Program Offices, focusing on the development, testing, and oversight of advanced power sources for munitions. This position is an excellent opportunity for a talented scientist or engineer to grow into a specialized role. The successful candidate will be a direct (W2) employee of WisEngineering, supporting ongoing Department of Defense programs at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ. Candidates with current or previous work experience at Picatinny Arsenal or US Army facilities are highly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical), Chemistry, or a related physical sciences discipline.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in a laboratory or R&D environment.
  • Familiarity with test and evaluation methodologies, data analysis, and prototype fabrication.
  • Experience with materials characterization, electrochemical testing, and/or electronic systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented approaches to complex technical challenges.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software and a strong willingness to learn new technical software and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively share updates with team members and internal management.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (Active Secret preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and oversight for Munitions Power Projects, ensuring that developmental efforts align with program goals and timelines.
  • Actively develop expertise in munitions power sources to serve as a technical resource for the team and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and support hands-on laboratory activities, including material handling, material processing, and the fabrication of prototype power systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and evaluation of munitions power sources in a laboratory environment.
  • Design and execute experiments to characterize power source performance in dynamic, high-G environments and across extreme temperature ranges.
  • Assist in the design, characterization, and failure analysis of power components and electronic assemblies.
  • Apply scientific principles to solve complex technical challenges related to power source reliability, safety, and performance.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of internal engineers, scientists, and technicians to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare and present technical findings, project updates, and recommendations to stakeholders.
