About The Position

Smartly is looking for a Team Lead to join our Smart Services team. Smart Services is our premium implementation, enablement, and strategic support layer built on top of the Smartly platform– we accelerate onboarding, drive platform adoption, and help clients get to confident self-serve. This role is ideal for an experienced paid media professional who combines platform and client strategy expertise with people leadership skills. As a Team Lead, you'll manage key client relationships, guide a team to deliver measurable outcomes, and drive adoption of Smartly's platform across your book of business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in digital media, with deep expertise in Paid Social and strong understanding of the broader advertising ecosystem.
  • 1+ year of experience managing a team.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining senior client relationships.
  • Hands-on experience with paid media platforms and a genuine appetite for enabling clients to operate them independently.
  • Working knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, and a curiosity for how they're reshaping paid media and platform automation.
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to balance client outcomes with team development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or DTC verticals.
  • Familiarity with Smartly or other paid media tech platforms.
  • Cross-channel experience across Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snap, LinkedIn, and Google.
  • Hands-on experience with programmatic and Amazon DSP/CTV.
  • Exposure to emerging AI-native ad platforms (e.g., OpenAI Ads) and a track record of getting up to speed on new channels quickly.
  • Practical experience applying AI/ML tools to media strategy, optimization, or workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across guided, hybrid, and managed engagement models– ensuring strong retention, value delivery, and momentum toward platform self-sufficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of specialists and managers, setting clear goals, ensuring accountability, and building defined career paths and growth.
  • Oversee onboarding plans, testing agendas, and platform adoption strategies that improve client performance and demonstrate Smartly's value.
  • Ensure processes, SLAs, and best practices are followed consistently while driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Creative Services, Marketing Science, Product, Technical Consulting, and Sales to deliver integrated solutions and share learnings across the organization.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of contracts, forecasts, scope, and account health– identifying expansion opportunities and protecting delivery profitability.
