About The Position

Electrical Equipment Company (EECO) is a full line electrical distributor specializing in industrial automation and power solutions. They aim to reduce costs, increase reliability, and improve performance for their customers. EECO is expanding its unique services throughout Virginia and is seeking an experienced product manager to lead sales efforts, focusing on the industrial market. This role will serve as the technical liaison between Rockwell Automation and EECO, providing technical, marketing, and commercial leadership to drive sales growth. The product manager will support the commercial plan for Smart Components businesses and develop a competency plan to ensure support functions are prepared to maximize market share. The position is responsible for driving the business strategy to accelerate growth in Smart Components, including industrial components, motor control, sensors, safety, condition monitoring, and machine-level controls/architectures. The role involves influencing customers on the value of Rockwell Automation solutions compared to competitors and coordinating sales teaming efforts to identify and close sales opportunities. Travel to customers within the assigned geography is required.

Requirements

  • Outcome-based selling experience with an understanding of industrial business drivers.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent combination of skills, experience, or education.
  • 3 years of experience/knowledge applying RA’s products or equivalent competitive solutions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to describe and apply the fundamentals of industrial components, motor control, sensors, safety, condition monitoring, and machine-level controls/architectures (controllers, distributed I/O and networks) in manufacturing environments.
  • Good technical writing & presentation skills with the ability to present RA’s value proposition to mid/large groups of customers (external and internal) both commercially and technically.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to analyze and document market conditions and competitive offerings.
  • Ability to speak with customers, demonstrating technical expertise while instilling confidence and credibility.
  • Ability to remain open to ideas, integrate multiple perspectives in decision making, and retain and convey a positive attitude in challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical liaison between Rockwell Automation and EECO.
  • Provide technical, marketing, and commercial leadership for sales growth.
  • Support the commercial plan for the Smart Components businesses.
  • Take a lead role in developing a competency plan for support functions (inside/outside sales) to maximize share gain.
  • Drive the business strategy to accelerate growth in Smart Components businesses (industrial components, motor control, sensors, safety, condition monitoring, and machine-level controls/architectures).
  • Be accountable for the creation and execution of plans to exceed growth targets in business revenue and management objectives.
  • Influence customers on the value of Rockwell Automation solutions versus competition.
  • Act as a trusted partner to business units, providing voice of the customer and constructive feedback.
  • Coordinate sales teaming efforts, including Automation Specialist, to identify and close account conversions and project sales opportunities.
  • Travel to customers within assigned geography.
