The Smart Building Services team focuses on deploying data analytics systems and managing collected data to transform it into actionable business intelligence for customers. The Smart Building Analyst role is central to this effort, facilitating analysis and communication with customers to improve building operational performance through data-driven insights.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with clients and deliver clear, high-quality communication that leads to a positive customer experience.
  • Mechanical field experience equivalent to a 4th-year union apprentice or higher, with hands-on exposure to commercial HVAC systems OR BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field OR Professional certifications such as CEM, CMVP, or BCxP (Building Commissioning Professional).
  • Experience in analyzing BAS and operational trend data to evaluate HVAC system performance.
  • Experience in identifying and diagnosing system-level performance issues across air-side and water-side systems.
  • Experience supporting continuous commissioning or fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) efforts in occupied buildings.
  • Experience collaborating with technicians, engineers, or operators to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Experience with Niagara or Siemens software.
  • Experience with IT networks in the built environment.
  • Experience with mechanical system design.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze building system data to identify performance issues.
  • Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for customers.
  • Focus on Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), continuous commissioning, and system-level performance evaluation across HVAC and building automation systems.
  • Work closely with customers, field technicians, and internal stakeholders to prioritize issues and support corrective actions.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in comfort, reliability, and energy performance.
  • Operate in a service-driven environment, take ownership of customer outcomes, and be accountable for key performance indicators.
  • Provide quality recommendations for building operations to customers.
  • Communicate directly with property managers and facilities teams on the state of their building.
  • Support the growing business through a variety of projects and initiatives.
  • Interact with sales and operations involved in delivering a world-class Smart Building experience to customers.
