About The Position

Operate various precision machines for metal and PVC work. This role involves performing daily operator preventive maintenance, setting up and changing tooling, and completing production and quality documentation. The operator is expected to maintain acceptable production rates, perform quality checks, ensure pipe is deburred and edge treated, and contribute to Lean and 5s initiatives. The position requires a self-starter who can work without supervision, adhere to company policies, and maintain a safe work environment. A cheerful and positive attitude is encouraged, along with a drive for continuous improvement in quality, safety, organization, cleanliness, and productivity. The operator must understand and follow all relevant procedures and prints, and safely operate overhead lifting cranes and jib booms if required. Assistance in other shop areas may also be needed, and maintaining a safe and clean work area is essential.

Requirements

  • Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
  • Read a tape measure to within 1/16”
  • Must be proficient at using all hand tools
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to read and understand all engineering prints related to the process
  • Able to trouble shoot and solve problems related to the process
  • Must be a self-starter that can work without supervision
  • Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Operate various precision machines for metal and PVC work
  • Perform daily operator preventive maintenance on the machine
  • Setup and change tooling as required
  • Proficiently complete all production and quality documentation, CRN, ASME, etc.
  • Maintain acceptable production rates within the skill level, by meeting or exceeding efficiency goals
  • Perform quality checks to ensure materials, parts and workmanship are compliant with engineering requirements and production expectations
  • Make sure that all pipe is deburred and edge treatment applied if necessary (ZRC)
  • Contribute to Lean and 5s Implemented in your areas
  • Ensures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as ensuring a safe work environment is maintained
  • Strive to continually improve quality, safety, organization, cleanliness and productivity within your department
  • Able to understand and follow all MAP’s, PAP’s, CRN, B31.5, ASME, TMI’s, TPI’s, and SOP’s that pertain to the product
  • Proficiently complete all documents pertaining to the process
  • Safe operation of all overhead lifting cranes and jib booms ( if required )
  • Assist in other areas of the shop when required
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
