The Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts. This role involves operating various CNC-controlled machines, such as presses, lasers, and rolling mills in a fast-paced production setting, with an emphasis on safety and quality. The position also includes performing routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment, marking parts with necessary identification, interpreting blueprints and technical data, and maintaining continuous improvement practices. The operator will also be expected to provide cost-saving suggestions, utilize scanning equipment, inspect work visually for defects, read a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedules. Teamwork and a commitment to safety are essential. This position may involve working overtime and other assigned duties.
