Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Must be able to drive a truck and possess a valid driver’s license.
Five years’ related experience in grounds maintenance and operations functions.
Be responsible for all activities required for safe, efficient operations within the grounds crew.
Wear PPE gear as required (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, etc).

Responsibilities

Operate small commercial mowers to cut and maintain turf areas with consistent quality.
Use string trimmers to maintain edges, fence lines, around obstacles, and in hard-to-reach areas.
Operate edgers to create clean, defined borders along sidewalks, driveways, curbing, and landscaped areas.
Use backpack or handheld blowers to clear debris from sidewalks, driveways, patios, and work areas.
Inspect equipment before and after use, report and document mechanical or safety issues.
Operate chainsaws for tree/limb removal, brush clearing, and storm cleanup, following best practice felling and bucking techniques.
Provide support as required in grounds maintenance areas, such as spring and fall mulch placement, tree trimming, and debris removal.
Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
Work safely themselves and help their teammates work safely.
Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions.
Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
