About The Position

Operate small bindery equipment within predetermined times frames as established. Act as the shift focal point of communication relative to productivity, quality, and raw material usage on assigned equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED
One year or more of experience on similar equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to accurately detail issues to supervisor/lead for resolutions.
Ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

Efficiently set-up, run, troubleshoot, and maintain all small bindery equipment, including but not limited to: Fenimore, Tipping & Tabbing equipment, Drills, Shrink wrap, etc.
Ensure all product specifications & job ticket instructions are followed accurately.
Fully understand and support Sheridan quality guidelines ensuring all work produced meets or exceeds Sheridan quality standards.
Implement corrective action measures to eliminate or prevent quality issues.
When instructed, train others to become efficient, effective operators.
Review job set-up with other operators, lead person or supervisor before running.
Use raw materials in a cost-effective manner.
Assist Bindery Supervisor/Lead to identify and address areas of high waste.
Report any safety concerns to Bindery Supervisor/Lead.
Ensure production times meet or exceed estimated standards.
Provide feedback to Bindery supervisor/Lead on any areas of production concern.
When directed, ensure equipment is operating through shift change and lunch breaks.
Accurately record all production data in Technique/DC simple.
Ensure all preventive maintenance is performed in an effective timely matter.
Communicate clearly and effectively with Bindery Supervisor/Lead and Maintenance department.
Control Production to ensure jobs are shipped within predetermined time frames.
Ensure manufacturing area is neat, clean, and organized.
Operate or assist on any assigned equipment.
