About The Position

Under general supervision, to repair and maintain air cooled equipment and perform related work as required. This role involves performing complete overhaul and repair work to a variety of air-cooled equipment ranging from Cushmans and mowers to construction equipment. The mechanic will diagnose defects, malfunctions, and perform repairs and tests on completed work. Additionally, they will repair and overhaul transmissions, differentials, and front and rear-end assemblies. Regular attendance and on-site work for the Community are required. The position also emphasizes effective collaboration with co-workers, customers, and others by sharing ideas constructively, listening to suggestions, keeping commitments, and communicating work progress. The role requires addressing problems and issues constructively to find practical business solutions, respecting diversity, and addressing others respectfully.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school and experience in automotive and repair work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
• Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of light and heavy duty automotive and related equipment.
• Knowledge of the operating principles of gasoline and diesel engines.
• Ability to read and write work-related job instructions in English.
• Ability to perform manual work requiring physical strength and stamina appropriate to the area of assignment.
• Ability to diagnose defects in engines and other running parts of automotive equipment.
• Ability to establish and effective working relationships with operations personnel.
• Ability to pass air-cooled certification.
• Skill in the use and operation of tools and machinery used in mechanical repair work.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
• Reading, problem solving, reasoning, verbal and communication skills.

Responsibilities
