Small Engine Mechanic
About The Position
The Small Engine Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs on lawn mowers and weed eaters. The role includes diagnosing mechanical issues, troubleshooting equipment problems, repairing or replacing damaged parts, and conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance. The mechanic inspects equipment to ensure proper operation and keeps the work area clean and organized. Other duties may be assigned as required. The position is located in Scott Depot and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Overtime is available. Pay starts at $16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Knowledge of lawn mower and weed eater maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems.
- Steel toe shoes are required.
- Jeans or long pants are required.
- Ability to lift and perform physical labor as needed.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Nice To Haves
- Previous small engine mechanic experience preferred.
