Small Engine Mechanic
About The Position
Kristian Electric is looking for a Mechanic to fill our Small Engine Mechanic opening at our Edmonton branch. As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing generators and engine driven welders. This role is open to experienced Journeyman or Apprentice Mechanics with knowledge on electrical wiring and diagnosis. The successful candidate will be reliable, organized, with the ability to maintain and service equipment in a timely and efficient manner, an exceptional customer relationship builder, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and safety focused. As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, calibrating, diagnosing, and evaluating repairs to Engine Driven Welding Machines and Generators in house and on job sites occasionally.
Requirements
- Certified Journeyman Mechanic, Apprentice, or an Engine Technician
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3 years as a Journeyman Mechanic, Apprentice, or as an Engine Technician
- Capable of working on gas drive and diesel engines
- Experience operating forklifts with valid forklift certification
- Must have valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
Nice To Haves
- Experience with welders and electrical trouble-shooting is considered an asset
- Experience operating overhead cranes is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, calibrate and recommend maintenance programs for Welding Equipment and Generators
- Follow product manuals and service requests diligently
- Working with others to inspect, diagnose, and repair welders
- Complying with safety requirements
