About The Position

The Small Business Segment Execution Leader will support the Small Business Segment around strategy, growth, transformation, product partner integration, key initiatives, operating routines, and “run the business” activities. This role will partner with other CSBB and Small Business leaders, as well as functional leaders. The role serves as a trusted partner, problem solver, coordinator, and execution accelerator, operating wherever additional leadership capacity is needed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years overall experience in financial services or consulting background in strategic planning, performance measurement, sales leadership / enablement experience preferred
  • Prior experience and/or understanding of Small Business banking fundamentals, including product and service capabilities, organizational structure and alignment, and internal process/systems/data
  • Strong knowledge and experience in strategic planning and execution, including creating and executing comprehensive plans associated with business mergers, conversions, product changes, technology releases, policy changes, and line of business strategic plans
  • Strong critical thinking skills combined with strategic business focus
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships and execute growth initiatives across lines of business including commercial banking, commercial real estate, corporate & investment banking, and wealth management
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to resolve conflicts and gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Demonstrated experience fostering strong partnership, promoting teamwork, and building an inclusive culture
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
  • Sense of urgency, organization and ability to multi-task and manage competing projects in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Working with Small Business Banking Leadership to develop business strategy, drive performance and organizational execution.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the management systems leaders use to drive accountability, performance, and execution.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and extension of leadership in providing vision, direction, and expertise to identify, prioritize, and execute initiatives and key deliverables.
  • Lead meetings, advisory councils, and steering committees to facilitate decision-making and support implementation of recommendations aligned with Segment objectives
  • Drive the agenda and approach for operating routines including Segment leadership meetings, Performance Meetings, business reviews, best practice sessions, market visits.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, business cases, recommendations, and supporting materials for senior leadership discussions.
  • Executing on “run the business” activities including meetings, sales optimization routines, project management efforts across the small business Segment. Responsible for creation and coordination of executive level reporting for various stakeholders, such as Risk Committees, and Business Performance Reviews, etc.
  • Partner with functional partners including technology, operations, finance, HR, credit & risk management, legal & compliance, marketing & communications, events. Primary liaison with Salesforce CRM and Client Central.
  • Connect leaders across Small Business, Consumer, Commercial, Wealth, and enterprise functions to improve alignment and execution.
  • Translate complex topics into clear action plans and communications. Support leadership messaging, updates, and organizational communications. Improve information flow across teams and partners. Reinforce priorities, expectations, and ways of working.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute opportunities to expand Small Business Banking's market presence, client acquisition capabilities, and growth agenda.
  • Lead and coordinate complex cross-functional projects in support of Small Business Banking priorities.
