About The Position

Firstrust Bank is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented intern to gain hands-on experience in Small Business Banking. The intern will work closely with an experienced Small Business Portfolio Manager to support the loan portfolio and assist with renewals of maturing mortgages and lines of credit. The internship offers an opportunity to develop banking skills, knowledge, and professional relationships and may lead to future opportunities with the Bank. The position also involves credit analysis and underwriting, including analysis of credit reports, review of loan documentation, and attention to regulatory compliance. The intern may participate in special projects such as process improvements and product development.

Requirements

High school degree and actively working toward completion of a college degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Ability to work with supervision to learn relationship management.
Ability to apply judgment, take initiative, manage priorities, and work under general supervision.
Strong work habits, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Monitor the dashboard daily to identify maturing lines of credit or term loans that meet established renewal benchmarks.
Work with the credit officer, team lead, branch manager, or small business lender and take appropriate steps based on renewal determinations.
Analyze credit reports and review loan documentation as part of credit analysis and underwriting.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Participate in assigned special projects, including process improvements and product development.
