About The Position

We are actively hiring for the position of Small Bindery Operator for our plant in Van Nuys, CA. This role involves operating small bindery equipment, ensuring job priority and accuracy, and maintaining a safe work environment. At least 1 year of experience using continuous and pile fed machines and packing experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with management and team members.
Ability to safely use hand/power tools.
Ability to multitask with changing priorities.
Ability to recognize safety issues & corrective actions

Responsibilities

Access the IMS program to determine priority jobs and set workload for the day.
Determine what size hole the job will require according to the gang sheet.
Set up the small bindery equipment which can include the drill hole machine, corner round machine, wire-o binding machine, shrink wrap machine, and padding press. and observe while running. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure a smooth and accurate process.
Inspect the hole drilled on the job to ensure accuracy and quality before packing in the designated box.
Record production and operational data using the IMS system, such as entering completed jobs.
Report any workplace hazards to management immediately.
Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.
