About The Position

This role is for a Print Press & Bindery Operator on the 3rd shift, working Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The operator is responsible for running various equipment involved in manufacturing, packaging, and shipping quality products to customers. This includes operating sheet fed and digital presses, bindery equipment, and other processing equipment. Associates are expected to adhere to standard operating procedures, ensure product quality, and collaborate in a team environment to achieve daily goals. The position primarily involves standard work, with potential for basic manual numbering, automated or basic setups, and changeovers. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • HS/GED with 1 year printing experience with similar equipment
  • Familiar with product, equipment, printing process, and ink usage
  • Mechanical ability to operate and maintain press
  • Basic math, reading and computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for running various equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and shipping a quality product to the customer
  • Running sheet fed, digital presses, bindery equipment, other processing equipment, and shipping/packing
  • Following standard operating procedures and processes to ensure quality of the orders produced
  • Working in a team environment to achieve daily goals
  • Running mostly standard work and performing basic manual numbering (if required)
  • Performing automated or basic setups and changeovers (if required)
  • Performing set-up of press including identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, mounting plates, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water levels, assuring accurate single-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, thermo unit, etc.
  • Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press productively while, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrate the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including blanket changes, wash up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance and cleaning to ensure a quality product to customer as required
  • Understand all press controls and demonstrate their use
