Ampersand Therapy is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with their CCC-SLP who is passionate about mentoring the next generation of clinicians. This position offers the opportunity to provide school-based speech-language services while supervising and supporting a Clinical Fellow (CF) throughout their fellowship year. This role involves more than simply signing paperwork. Supervisors play a critical role in developing and supporting new clinicians. The fellowship timeline is 36 weeks total, with a minimum of 1,260 hours, divided into 3 segments of approximately 12 weeks each, with approximately 420 hours per segment. ASHA requires supervisors to maintain consistent contact with the CF throughout each segment. Supervision should extend beyond the minimum required hours and include regular communication and support. The CF tracks total hours worked, segment timelines, and progress toward the required 1,260 hours. The supervisor documents dates of supervision, direct vs. indirect supervision, duration of each supervision session, and completes a CF Skills Inventory at the end of each segment assessing competencies in Evaluation, Treatment, Professional Practice, and Interaction and Communication. The supervisor determines whether the CF Meets Expectations or Does Not Meet Expectations. The supervising SLP is responsible for ensuring appropriate service delivery, monitoring clinical competency development, verifying supervision requirements are met, signing off on fellowship hours and progress, and recommending the CF for ASHA certification upon successful completion.
