About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the slot department. This person also performs the duties of a Shift Manager in their absence. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members a first priority.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal/State Compact for Gaming.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply internal gaming controls.
  • Knowledge of both the mandatory minimum internal control standards and the tribal/state compact for gaming.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using a personal computer, related software, and programs.
  • Skill of developing and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal Guests.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply commonly accepted rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation in written communication to develop management reports and summaries.
  • Knowledge of slot machine operation.
  • Ability to identify and carry out actions to achieve goals while considering possible risks to effectively develop long and short-range company objectives.
  • Skill in preparing written materials such as correspondence, reports and proposals to meet purpose and audience.
  • Skill of determining alternatives that would correct a situation to provide effective guest service.
  • Skill of receiving a message, understanding the intended message and giving feedback to ensure guest expectations are met.
  • Skill of delegating authority and encouraging and supporting risk taking to develop responsible team members and management team.
  • Skill in converting different denominational credits to dollars and cents.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a group to make the work of the group successful and effective.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as gaming controls and procedure manuals, safety rules, and operation and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with slot machines.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze accounting system information and reports.
  • Ability to interpret slot machine data.
  • Ability to follow procedures and give attention to detail.
  • Ability to occasionally stand for moderate to long periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently walk for moderate periods of time.
  • Ability to be TIPS Certified.
  • Ability to complete Comp training and be certified.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing an assigned shift for the slot department in accordance with the Shooting Star Casino rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Plans, assigns, schedules, and directs work of team members.
  • Check Accounting paperwork daily- adjust and correct if necessary
  • Evaluate and document team member work performance through the usage of the current evaluation process.
  • Provide counseling sessions.
  • Project execution and completion.
  • Addressing guest complaints and concerns.
  • Carries out the established training process for all slot team members.
  • Assists in establishment and complies with budget objectives.
  • Process Jackpots.
  • Perform Level I slot tech duties.
  • Perform all slot supervisory responsibilities.
  • Oversee projects for slot machine installs, removals, moves and conversions throughout the casino gaming floor.
  • Provides support for slot machine vendor technicians for set up and installation of new slot machines.
  • Provides support for relocation of slot machines on the casino floor.
  • Provides support to the Slot Project Coordinator, Slot Supervisor and Slot Technician with slot machine conversions and denomination changes on the casino gaming floor.
  • Coordinates with support departments for installs, moves and conversions.
  • Performs general custodial services to clean and maintain slot machines and surrounding gaming areas to provide a sanitary environment for guests and team members of Shooting Star.
  • Cleans, polishes, and sanitizes exterior of all slot machines.
  • Cleans areas between slot machines to include disposal of empty bottles, glasses or any other discarded items.
  • Empties ash trays as necessary.
  • Straightens slot stools when not in use, keeping slot banks looking neat and orderly.
  • Verification for a variety of slot department paperwork.
  • Oasis programs.
  • Addresses EIP’s and other variances.
  • Responsible for all activities within the facility in the absence of a Shift Manager or Management.
  • Oversees casino activities during an assigned shift and in contact with immediate supervisor.
  • Reports findings and concerns to affected leadership.
  • Reviews and determines check cashing authorization.
  • Point redemption authorization of $1,000.00 and above.
  • Paid out authorization.
  • Jackpot authorizations of $5,000.00 and above.
  • Complimentary level three certification.
  • Assists Table Games and Cage personnel with identifying and preparing Cash Transaction Reports.
  • Works interactively with Surveillance, County Sheriff, White Earth Police, City Council and Tribal Council.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by Slot Management.
