About The Position

Responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical slot machines under the direction of the Slot Technician Supervisor or Slot Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient computer skills a must.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony.
  • Must not have been convicted of shoplifting or stealing within the last five years.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Applicant must possess a valid picture ID and Social Security Card.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to Guest and co-workers.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • No person shall be eligible for employment at Menominee Casino Resort/Thunderbird complex if they have been convicted, or have an unresolved charge of: Any crime which would require compliance with the reporting requirements for sex offenders pursuant to Menominee or Wisconsin law; or A felony conviction of any kind in the immediately preceding two years; A crime of any kind related to gambling in the immediately preceding two years; A crime of any kind related to theft, fraud, or misrepresentation in the immediately preceding two years; A crime of any kind related to a crime of violence, or involving domestic violence, or a drug offense involving sale of drugs, or possession with intent to sell drugs during the immediately preceding two years.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach; and talk or hear.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee regularly works near electrical and moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Nice To Haves

  • Electronics experience and/or degree preferred.
  • A minimum of six (6) months experience as a Slot Attendant preferred.
  • Preference given to qualified Menominee or other Native American Applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the repair, overhaul, and proper preventative maintenance of all electrical and mechanical slot machines in accordance with gaming regulations.
  • Will abide by all Menominee Casino Resort Policies and Procedures, Slot Department Procedures as outlined in the Slot Handbooks and the Gaming Standards set forth by the Slot Department and Gaming Commission.
  • Regularly practice the (5) five basic service standards established by the Menominee Casino Resort.
  • Run no communication and door status reports and repair problems daily.
  • Log machines that are troublesome to fix on the Machine Problems sheet with complete explanation of the problem.
  • Ensures the continuous operation of slot machines on the gaming floor by troubleshooting and correcting any issues.
  • Help perform Machine Attendant functions when needed including removing jams and filling e-ticket paper.
  • Train and function as a mentor for new Slot Department Employees.
  • Maintain records of all machine repairs and maintenance through proper paperwork trail.
  • Help maintain an inventory of parts for all slot machines by logging every part taken out of inventory and any parts that need to be ordered or repaired by the Bench Technician.
  • Work with the floor personnel to resolve guest questions related to payout and operation of machines and bring disputes and unusual customer activities to the attention of the Slot Supervisor.
  • Use any company property in a responsible manner and keep the Slot Technician shop clean, neat and organized.
  • May assist the Senior Slot Technicians with installations, conversions, moves or any other scheduled or non-scheduled slot projects.
  • May assist in ensuring machine integrity when jackpots occur and at other times requested.
  • Promotes positive Customer Relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record with occasional weekends, evenings or holidays required.
  • Attendance at workshops, seminars and monthly staff meetings are required.
  • Provide proper slot machine “Eye” coverage and assist co-workers when needed.
  • Help keep the gaming floor sections free of debris, including emptying ash trays and pushing in chairs.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
