About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining a high quality of guest service according to Silverton's service standards. The Slot Tech III must have extensive knowledge of all areas in the Slot Technical field, including advanced troubleshooting, game recalls, and machine optioning. They are responsible for ensuring all electronic gaming equipment is in operational condition according to Company Department Standards and Standard Operating Procedures. This role involves assisting and supervising vendors with repairs, ensuring safety first in all activities, and identifying/reporting unsafe conditions. The Slot Tech III will also handle machine and sign moves, installs, removals, conversions, and all optioning and repairs. They will investigate machines for meter variances, perform repairs, and may assist with jackpot verification and technical evaluations during disputes. Maintaining open communication with management regarding processes, team members, guests, and vendors is crucial. This role also involves monitoring communications between player tracking units and EGM's, maintaining parts inventory, coordinating with the Slot Tech Supervisor on orders, and inventorying received parts. Requests for BV and printer hardware exchanges will be made to ensure adequate stocking levels, and vendors may be contacted directly. Recording and providing serial numbers of player tracking hardware sent for repair is required. The position requires minimal supervision and aids the Slot Tech Supervisor when needed, potentially assuming their responsibilities for contacting vendors for parts quotes or other tasks upon management request. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job, along with other duties as assigned. General responsibilities include maintaining high guest service, thorough knowledge of company and departmental policies, adhering to appearance and uniform standards, maintaining open communication, and a positive professional demeanor. The ability to accept performance feedback professionally is also required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years as a Slot Tech in a Casino environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Ex. LCD training courses, etc.
  • Basic PC Skills, Knowledge of Word, Excel, E-mail etc.
  • Requires knowledge of Slot Techs II and I.
  • Has the ability to direct Slot Techs II and I on tasks as needed.
  • Must have knowledge of all areas in the Slot Technical field.
  • Must have all types of machine knowledge i.e.: operation, software, hardware troubleshooting/repair and machine optioning.
  • Must have full knowledge of player tracking system i.e. meters and communications between player tracking units and EGM’s and host communication to player tracking units.
  • Must have progressive equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills to perform repairs needed.
  • Above average soldering skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair most types of electronic equipment including board level in skill set with electronic schematics.
  • Must have full knowledge of Compliance Advisory and the Mandatory Firmware Notifications.
  • Understand Machine Manuals, all SOP’s and Internal Controls that pertain to job description.
  • Must have full knowledge of Par Sheets, programs and EPROM’s for all types of platforms.
  • Ability to learn on their own; self-starter.
  • Stays current with new technology, game platforms, etc.
  • Displays confidence: when explaining machine outcomes and resolving disputes.
  • Heavy lifting required, ability to pick up 50 lbs.
  • Heavy pushing required with assists of equipment such as two and four wheel dollies.
  • Requires the ability to use single person machine lifting equipment.

  • Identify and notify any unsafe conditions, areas or equipment that needs to be addressed to your supervisor immediately.

  • Responsible for making requests for BV hardware and Printer Hardware exchanges to provide adequate stocking levels, may contact vendors directly at the request of the Slot Tech Supervisor or Manager.
  • Responsible for recording and providing a list of serial numbers to Slot Tech Supervisor of the player tracking hardware that is being sent out for repair.
  • Requires minimal supervision and aids the Slot Tech Supervisor when needed.
  • Assumes responsibilities of Slot Tech Supervisor for contacting vendors for parts quotes, upon Slot Technical Managers request.
  • Assumes responsibilities of Slot Tech Supervisor upon Slot Technical Managers request.
  • Regular attendance to all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
