About The Position
Nesco Resource is hiring for its client in Elmira, NY. The Chip Slitter Operator supports production operations by assisting with machine setup, material handling, and finished-product processing. The role helps ensure efficient workflow and quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with weekends off, and pays $17 per hour.
Requirements
- Comfort working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Team-oriented approach and good communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Prior machine operation or manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Load rolls of paper onto the chip slitter machine safely and efficiently.
- Secure and set up cutting plates used to slot paper materials.
- Support machine startup and monitor basic operation alongside the operator.
- Remove cut paper pieces from conveyor belts during production.
- Stack finished products onto pallets, place them into boxes, or load them into cages as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
