About The Position

MCC is hiring a Slitter Machine Operator to operate slitting equipment and help maintain print and seam quality. Experience is not required, though it is a bonus. The role involves inspecting materials, removing defects and splicing rolls, handling and palletizing rolls, and recording production information. The position is identified as first shift.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform these operations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing; using hands to finger, feel, and touch; reaching; and talking and hearing.
• Frequent walking; occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a slitter machine operator; experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specification.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing, and use these tools at other times as necessary.
• Handle and palletize rolls to avoid damaging them.
• Understand basic printing and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operations system, Globetek.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
