About The Position

Classic Packaging Company is a family-owned producer of flexible food packaging based in Pfafftown, North Carolina. The Slitter Helper assists the Slitter Machine operator while following established GMP, safety, and company procedures. Safety is the primary objective, and the work supports production targets and product quality. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with second-shift differential pay. The employee helps maintain production levels and product quality, verifies materials for each job, checks finished rolls, and palletizes them. The role also includes completing paperwork and computer entries accurately, keeping the work area orderly, and safely moving materials and finished products using equipment such as pallet jacks and hoists. Employees must be able to stand for a full shift, excluding breaks, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist the Slitter Machine operator in operating the Slitter.
Maintain production levels and product quality while operating safely.
Check machine safety functions at the beginning of each shift.
Check product quality whenever the machine restarts.
Complete paperwork and computer entries accurately.
Verify that the correct materials are being used for each job.
Check the quality of finished rolls and palletize them.
Keep the Slitter area clean and orderly.
Follow safety requirements and perform duties safely and efficiently.
Safely use material-moving equipment, including pallet jacks and hoists, to transport or lift materials and finished products.
Perform other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.
